THINK information THINK is a Royal Institute of Philosophy periodical that is published the TPM. It is edited by Dr Stephen Law, and it appears three times a year. THINK is looking to forge a strong and direct link between contemporary philosophy and the general public, one that is unimpeded by academic jargon and technicality. The central aim of THINK is to provide to a very wide audience including schools, colleges and the general public highly accessible and engaging writing by philosophers pre-eminent in their fields. THINK includes among its subsidiary aims an intention to counter the popular impression that philosophy is pointless and wholly detached from everyday life. It will also expose some of the bad philosophy that currently passes as accepted wisdom in certain circles (e.g. religious, scientific, anthropological, etc). Perhaps most importantly, the periodical gives contemporary philosophers the chance to help nurture and encourage the next generation of philosophers. |
