The Philosophers' Magazine is a quarterly (March, June, September and December) magazine of philosophy available in bookshops and on newstands around the world. Founded in 1997, its aim is to bring high-quality philosophy to the intelligent lay-public. In its first two years, it has featured interviews and contributions from people like: Dan Dennett, Richard Rorty, Richard Dawkins, Alvin Plantinga, John Searle, Michael Dummett, John Searle, Hilary Putnam and Edward O. Wilson. Its content is themed, ranging from the latest news in the philosophy world to original philosophy by top academics. The centre piece of each issue is a "Forum" that explores a particular area in depth. Past forums include: freewill and determinism; realism and anti-realism; problems of consciousness; women thinkers; philosophical counselling; and September 11. |
